What happens to your documents

Home finance packs contain your name, address, the property and the amounts involved. We built Sharia Check so that none of it needs to leave our server or be kept.

What we process

When you upload a file, we read its text to split it into clauses and test them. The file and its text are held in the server's memory while the check runs. They are never written to disk and are discarded as soon as the check finishes.

The report we produce contains extracts of your clauses. It is kept in memory so you can view it, and deleted two hours after it is ready. Anyone with the report link can view it during those two hours, so share the link with care.

Where it is processed

On our own server in Manchester, United Kingdom. The model that reads your clauses runs on that server. Your document is not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other third-party AI service.

What we do not do

  • We do not ask you to create an account or give your name or email.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, or third-party analytics.
  • We do not use your documents to train or tune our models.
  • We do not sell or share anything you upload.

Technical logs

Like any website, our web server sees your IP address. We use it briefly to limit how many checks one connection can start in an hour, which keeps the service available for everyone. We do not keep access logs of the pages you visit.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you. Because we do not store documents or reports beyond two hours, and keep no accounts, there will normally be nothing to provide.
